2026 Canada estimator

Income tax calculator.

Estimate federal and provincial income tax from ordinary income and net realized capital gains, then compare the result by province or territory.

Plain-English note. This is a bracket-based estimate. Real tax returns can change after credits, deductions, CPP/EI, surtaxes, premiums, capital-loss carryovers, exemptions, and other personal details.

Estimate your tax

Enter ordinary income, net realized capital gains, RRSP and TFSA contributions, then choose your province or territory of residence on December 31, 2026.

Use employment, pension, interest, rental, or other ordinary income before the RRSP deduction. Do not include the capital gain entered below.

Enter the gain, not the sale proceeds, after current-year capital losses. The estimate includes 50% of this amount in taxable income. Gains inside an RRSP, TFSA, or FHSA and an exempt principal residence should not be entered.

RRSP deductions lower taxable income. The 2026 RRSP dollar limit used to calculate new room is $33,810, but your available room may differ because of income, pension adjustments, and unused room. Amounts above income are ignored in this estimate.

TFSA contributions do not reduce taxable income. The 2026 annual TFSA dollar limit is $7,000, plus any unused room.

Account and gains note

RRSP entries estimate the current-year deduction only. TFSA entries are tracked as savings, not deductions. The capital-gains field is for non-registered assets and uses Canada’s 50% inclusion rate retained for 2026.
